Something we have never done before, but at the beginning of the season, we decided to branch out and give it a go.
Initially, we had 1 or 2 teething problems, e.g, the dates for singles and pairs are set in stone, so Bob was unable to take part in either due to holidays.
Steve and Rob played in each, but despite losing, they played well.
In the Fours at Waddesdon Manor, Mel Figg Steve Smith, Rob Burgess and Bob won the first round beating a very strong Wolverton Town team.
We lost to Gerald's Cross in the next round, but the memory of beating Wolverton will stay with us for a long time.
In the county triples Rob, Steve, and Bob lost to a very good Stony team, no excuses.
Last night in the Benevolent triples Rob, Steve Dave Stevenson, who stepped in for Bob lost to the county triples winning team. Thank you Dave.
All in all, it's not a bad season played to win, but still had a laugh. Why not join us next year and give it a go.
